Alright, alright .... so, I lied. No new page up yet ... realistically, we won't get a new page up until the Monday after next. We let this week go by because of my parents visiting, Thanksgiving week I will be in Florida with my sister. The Monday after Thanksgiving we'll post page 8, and there will be a great deal of work up this December! I know my DA watchers are looking forward to this year's 12 OC's of Christmas, and I can promise you it's coming--with even more than before!
So, be patient with us. Today, Monday, and next Friday we'll be posting some more flavor for the setting, this time focusing on the major Guilds of Andrea's world. Today's post, the Magus Guild!

JLs parents dropped by on their way back to Texas for her mothers cancer treatment, so yesterday, we showed them around to some places of interest. First off, we had breakfast at this awesome place called The Australian Bakery and Café--which, if you live local to the Marietta area and havent been to, GO. Its one of the best local places Ive been to in recent memory. The only snag is that its only open for breakfast and lunch, but early hours is a small price to pay for the awesome food. We looked around at some of the antique shops on the square and I found out that one of them has a watch and clockwork repair section AND they teach private classes on clockwork mechanisms. Which is pretty sweet. We also checked out the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art and its current exhibit: Art of the Golden Generation, which is works of art exclusively by artists age 50 and up. And then headed over to the Museum of Coca-Cola.
I hadnt been to the Coke Museum since 98-99 or so, and this was the first time Id been since its relocation. We got to see an amazing mascot suit for the coca-cola polar bear (it had a moving mouth, blinking eyes--and was completely mesmerizing to watch moving around). And yes, we had some of the Beverley soda, which upon reflection tastes a lot more like grapefruit and not concentrated bad. Though it tastes worse if you arent expecting it, which is why it sticks out in most peoples heads as being terrible. JL and I hung around the Asian sodas the most, and since we dont have sugar as much as we used to, we were bouncing off the walls for a while there.
Since we were lucky enough to get combo tickets for both the coke museum and the aquarium (or fish zoo as it was referred to by JLs Dad). It was my first time there and not at all what I expected. Well, obviously I was expecting marine life, but not the sheer amount of marine life, or the really neat aesthetic of the place. I was equally entertained by the exhibits as I was with the one or two high school field trips that were there as well. After having a laugh at the gift shop, we headed back to Marietta for dinner, we all had a chat with my folks before JLs parents headed to their hotel for the night and we saw them off this morning.
After eating at the Australian bakery again, of course.
Seriously, go there.
